Doe Deere: Why We Should Follow Our Hearts

Doe Deere was recently interviewed by Guest of a Guest where she gave advice to women who wanted to become successful entrepreneurs. She gave wonderful advice on how you can achieve the fullest life by simply listening to the voice inside of you that is telling you what your life’s passion is. She said that many of us don’t follow that voice, missing out on the opportunity of our lifetime.

Doe Deere has become a phenomenon from founding her beauty company, Lime Crime. The company is unlike any other on the market today. Lime Crime specializes in making wonderfully bold colored lipsticks, eyeshadows, hair dyes and highlighters. According to her interview in Guest of a Guest, Doe said she believes that women express themselves by what we put on our faces, how we style our hair and through the makeup we put on her face. This was her inspiration to found Lime Crime.

Doe has always liked to express herself through makeup and through brightly colored hair. Lime Crime came about in 2008 when Doe was living in New York City. She was unable to find the makeup colors she was looking for in the type of quality that she demanded. It was the era of nude makeup and beige lip glosses and light caramel eyeshadow was all the rage. Doe, never being one to conform to trends, wanted to find her signature bright blues, hot pinks and sunset oranges. The products she found in those colors were cheaply made and not up to her standards. It was then that she decided to start Lime Crime and create her own line of makeup.

Doe admitted in the article that she was surprised at how many other women were looking for the exact same style of makeup. From the moment Lime Crime was founded, Doe knew she was doing exactly what she was put on this world to do. In the Guest of a Guest article, she states that we all have that same type of mission; something that we feel in our gut is our life’s passion. She stated how important it is to follow that calling and to not let the probabilities and the ‘what ifs’ keep you from achieving that dream. She says that the best advice she can give is simply to follow your heart. She believes that every person has something truly special about them that is something no one else has in the world.
