OSI Group’s innovative approach a leading edge in industry
The Globe of Honor award commends a business site’s commitment to excellent environmental management standards. Applications are independently adjudicated by a panel of chartered environmental professionals. To be considered for this award, an organization goes through a special audit. The areas to be rated are focused on health, safety, and the environmental impact of operations. Candidates must be able to demonstrate to a third party panel of experts that it rates as excellent in its health and safety, and environmental management procedures throughout all facets of the business. The British Safety Council’s audit scheme demands that the candidate must achieve the highest possible grade in all areas to obtain the award.
This esteemed award is regarded as an international recognition of the successful methodology and environmental stratagems adopted by these organizations. OSI group was one of 18 organizations worldwide presented with the Globe of Honor in 2016. Recipients of the award were honored at an Awards luncheon held at Drapers’ Hall in the City of London on November 25, 2016.
OSI Group is one of the largest and well established food processing companies globally producing value-added protein items and other food products to food services and retail brands. Some of the products OSI Group supplies are: bacon, fresh and frozen beef products, raw and processed poultry products, seafood, pizza and dough based products, and cheese based products.
OSI Group is regularly recognized for their innovation within the industry. The creed to which OSI subscribes is a principle belief that improvements can always be made no matter the level of excellence their current methods provide. They will always seek to provide the best results for their customers while keeping consideration of the environment and the communities in which the company shares space. An example of innovation being the multi-facility implementation of Arrowsight Inc.’s perpetual Remote Video Auditing program (RVA) to augment the company’s existing food safety and quality surveillance program within its U.S. operations. This technology will help ensure the strictest protocols involving food handling are followed. This decision will likely be replicated on the global scale as a basis for international expansion.
